Squash 1
Thomas ten Cate (ttencate@gmx.net)

Introduction
------------
Welcome to Squash 1, the best pong game for the home screen of the TI-83, fully written in TI-BASIC!

Installation
------------
The installation of Squash 1 is very simple: just send the file 'Squash1.83p' to your calculator. Then you can run it from the PRGM menu or from AShell or a compatible shell, like SOS.

Playing the game
----------------
The concept is so simple that it is hardly worth explaining, but I'll do so anyway. At the bottom of the screen you see your racket. You can move it with the arrow keys. The goal of the game is to keep hitting the ball, that bounces around the screen, with the racket, so that it doesn't fly off the bottom of the screen. For every hit you score a point. The ball also goes faster every time you hit it.

Uninstallation
--------------
You must be kidding, right? Throwing such a good game off your calculator! But if you're determined to do so, simply delete the program 'SQUASH1' and the list 'SQU1' (in which the hiscore is saved). There. Now you've done it. How could you.

Squash
------
At the time of writing, there are Squash 1, a TI-BASIC version on the text screen, Squash 2, which runs on the graph screen, and Squash 3, which is written in assembly and runs on the graph screen. They are all available from www.ticalc.org.

Source
------
There is a commented version of the code included, called 'Squash1.src.txt'. If you have any questions about how the program works, or if you're just curious, have a look at it.

Legal stuff
-----------
Of course this game can't harm your calculator, but if it does, I reject all responsibility.
